Purpose
We want to ensure that a diverse community of developers can attend the hackathon on “2024 OME-NGFF workflows hackathon”. For that purpose, we will provide some travel grants to people that couldn’t attend otherwise. Our selection approach will maximize diversity amongst travel award grantees.
Prerequisites for application
- You must be employed by a nonprofit research institution (institute, university, etc.)
- Your day-to-day work must involve one or more aspects of image data, for example, image analysis, data management and/or tool development for image analysis
- You are involved in developing tools, making tools accessible to others, shaping image analysis standards or similar. These travel grants are not intended for users of the tools.

Selection criteria
The selection process will be based on information obtained from the submitted applications. A user must qualify under the prerequisites for application to be evaluated. A selection committee will review all travel grant applications. We will give out travel grants as the budget allows.
Each member of the selection panel will score each application based on the following:
- Applicant’s motivation statement to participate in the hackathon (up to 3 points)
Higher scores will be awarded to applicants with motivation statements that are relevant to the hackathon.
